SUBMARINE VENTILATION SYSTEM – PATENT CONFIRMED IN USA

DRASS Ventilation System patent is also now approved in the USA.

This invention relates to the utilization of an innovative underwater capsule for emergency ventilation of a distressed submarine.

In the unlikely event of a submarine emergency, a rescue vessel is typically deployed equipped with a large set of surface components and tools for the emergency ventilation. The traditional approach to the ventilation has several disadvantages including difficulty to ease the flow of ventilation air outside the distressed submarine. This generally creates a gradual increase of pressure in the hull with consequent threat to the life of the submariners. DRASS Ventilation System is equipped with a submerged ventilation capsule, launched from the rescue vessel, that operates an effective suction from the distressed submarine thanks to the in-built suction compressor. This prevents the build-up of pressure, keeping the crew safe while their recovery to surface is being executed.

Consistent with a century of experience in the sphere of subsea innovation, DRASS once again brings a significant contribution to the submarine rescue sector with yet another groundbreaking technology.
